Placenta Plus is the only lab-based company providing placenta services in the UK. Something which we are incredibly proud of. We adhere to laboratory standards always. Each placenta has an individual lab space whilst in our care, so you can rest assured you are receiving the highest quality service. We abide by rules and regulations set by the NHS, The Human Tissue Authority, and Environmental Health – this for us, gives us all peace of mind – and for you too.
The scale of our business and the service we offer means we do not work from a home space/kitchen. We believe that our labs are the safest option for our clients – and they do too!
Collection Options
Collection Options
We have two options for the collection of your placenta:
Option 1 ( Premium service )
Our preferred option. Premium courier collection from your place of birth within hours, no matter the time of day, 24/7. This is the simplest option and will allow your products to be delivered back to you usually within 48/72 hours (may vary with weekends). Your placenta will be collected by a fully insured human tissue courier directly from the doors of the hospital home if a homebirth and returned to our lab efficiently. To provide this premium service a courier fee applies and will depend on your birth location.
Option 2 ( Standard service )
Collection from home. We have developed this option to enable our services to be more cost-effective and available to all. You would take the placenta home and place in your freezer. Once in the freezer it would be perfectly fine for months but we collect as soon as possible. You would then call us between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday to arrange collection. We would then arrange for your placenta to be collected from home between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (times may vary). Using this service may be an extra 24-48 hours (may vary with weekends) more using this service rather than the premium.
We recommend using the Premium service for the quickest and most efficient service, it is the most popular option.
